The Edge
Firstly,
my apologies to anyone receiving this newsletter who would
prefer not to. Our Mailing List was up-to-date prior to the
theft of my laptop just over a year ago. So, if you receive
this newsletter by mistake, please don't accuse me of spam.
Just be polite and send me an email at enquiries@volcanicearth.com
with the words "Unsubscribe" in the heading and
you will be removed from the List immediately.
Following
the theft of my laptop and time constraints generally, I was
obliged to forego the issue of the monthly "News From
The Crater's Edge" newsletter. However, as so many people
have requested that I continue to put it out, I have re-prioritised
and present here our December 2008 edition.
I
hope you enjoy it.
Recent
Developments
As
some of you will know, we have just opened The Volcanic Earth
Healing Centre at the renowned N. Michoutouchkine A.
Pilioko Foundation, located just
a few kilometers from Port Vila, Vanuatu on Pango Road.

Click the image
above to learn more!
I
am sure that for those who attended the opening of the Centre,
the image of the beautiful, young dancers with their gorgeous
smiles is still with you. For those of you who missed it, here
is a little peek to brighten up your day!

If
you have never been to the Foundation or it has been a long
time since your last visit, I encourage you to go, Apart from
the all the unusual pieces of carvings, paintings and other
artworks that have only recently come back from being on exhibition
in Tahiti and New Caledonia for many years, the place is just
breathtaking - full of colour, harmony and serenity amidst lush
green, botanical surroundings and the soothing sounds of the
gently rolling waves of the Pacific Ocean.
Simply
unlike anywhere else in the world and the perfect environment
for the Volcanic Earth Healing Centre.
Although
the Centre has only been open for a few months, customers who
have come for specific treatments and even half day indulgences
(including lunch) have quite simply been "gobsmacked".
Escaping
from the stresses of modern day life has never been easier.
Everyone seems to de-stress completely and meld into the peaceful
yet invigorating tapestry of The Foundation itself. From mother
and daughter combinations to husbands and wives, to romantic
couples or people on their own, the result is always the same
- total relaxtion and a feeling that they just experienced something
unique and magical.
Complimentary
refreshments are served after each treatment and clients can
be seen sitting in the Tea House pagola drifting away into quiet,
intimate conversations over Lemon Tea and fritters.
Even
those of us fortunate enough to be living in this island paradise
come under stress and strain through work, business and other
reasons. So often, we keep putting other people or commitments
first and forget all about ourselves.
Don't
overlook being kind to yourself.
With
holidays and Xmas just around the corner, why not book yourself
in for a treatment? Just don't leave it to the last minute,
as you may well miss out! What about popping into the Volcanic
Earth shop located in The Adventure Centre (down the walkway
to Uncle Bills next to the Drugs Store in Port Vila) and picking
up a Gift Treatment Voucher for a loved one? These vouchers
can be tailor-made to suit your budget.
Groups,
including wedding parties and guests, are also welcome at the
Healing Centre.
Appointments
can be made by phoning Volcanic Earth on 26690
or 77 71684 or 77 46112.
A
Little More On Nicolai Michoutouchkine and Aloi Pilioko
The
contribution made by Nicolai Michoutouchkine and Aloi Pilioko
to the preservation and promotion of articistic creations from
Vanuatu and the South Pacific is staggering. For over thirty
years these two extraordinary artists/painters travelled the
world with their extensive collection of artifacts, carvings,
traditional masks, paintings and other art works. The sole purpose
of this lifelong endeavour has been to foster international
relations with Vanuatu through bringing Vanuatu art and South
Pacific culture to the world.

So,
if you get the chance, especially if you have family and friends
over, take the time to visit and support the Foundation and
its work in showcasing to the world some of rarest artistic
works from Vanuatu and the South Paific.. Entry fee is only
1,000 Vatu for adults and 400 Vatu for children. For very small
children and Ni Vanuatu, entry remains free of charge.
Naturally,
no entrance fee is payable by customers to the Healing Centre,
so you could take advantage of a hot rocks massage or other
treatment at the same time!
Just
before I go, the N. Michoutouchkine A. Pilioko Foundation
is an ideal setting for tropical Vanuatu island weddings (as
distinct from the reception venue). Local
Wedding Coordinators and other interested parties should contact
Nicolai Michoutouchkine direct by phoning the Foundation
on 27753 or 77 47753
or A/H 23053.
